The day was foggy and very cold but as we spotted the falcon perched on a tree, the sky parted a wee bit. A patch of blue with frothy white clouds appeared. Just below, the sky was filled with mackerel scales of cloud. Glancing from sky to bird, from bird to sky, the matching formation was unmistakable.
